Billy Blanks PT 24/7 Phenomenon

Most people have heard of Billy Blanks and his Tae Bo exercise system he created using martial arts, boxing and dance movements. During the 1990′s Billy distributed over 1.5 million sets of videos through his infomercials and created a martial arts exercise phenomenon. In Billy Blanks PT 24/7 he attached resistant bands to gloves and feet a very unique and creative way. The resistance bands are attached to gloves and to your feet, so all movements have constant resistance making his normal Tae Bo movements more difficult. I think this is a great idea, attaching resistance bands to your hands and feet is great way to make your body work harder thereby burning more calories in a shorter period of time.

The program includes 7 DVD’s each 30 minute sessions. The first DVD is for beginners to learn the basic moves. The second and third DVD are for cardio and building the lower body. The fourth video slims the waist and tones the abs. DVD 5 is a boot camp, military style to pump up the arms and shoulders. The 6th video tones the whole body and the last bonus video is a total body blast. The video below gives you the details.

That I like about Billy Blanks PT 24/7, is that you can use them for any exercise program, martial arts or dance routine. Billy Blanks program includes a nutritional guide and a rotation calendar to track and program your workouts. They are great for cardio and toning but not really for developing strength and mass. In order to develop large muscles you need to have progressive resistance and heavier weights. The only other concern some users had was the length of the bands may be too long for shorter participants. I’m sure adjustment can be made by wrapping the band around the feet or hands, to shorten the length.
